This is a time-lapse (60x normal) speed of an entire flight from Chicago (Midway / MDW), IL to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), FL on August 22, 2015. The flight was 2 hours and 45 minutes gate-to-gate, with a cruising altitude of 37,000 feet (SW Airlines Boeing 737-800 series). See an "effective" airspeed of over 30,000 MPH as well as the structure of the upper atmosphere, including massive thunderheads towards the end of the video upon arrival into South Florida.
