"CHASERCON" 2019 (NATIONAL STORM-CHASER CONVENTION)

The storm chaser convention in 2019 took place from February 8th through the 10th in Wichita, Kansas at the Hyatt Regency and convention center in downtown. This continued to be a great event each year, thanks to the great efforts of Roger Hill and his group, and fortunately this year had a much better attendance / new attendees, making continued hope of more future conventions thanks to a great turnout for Roger and his group.

Myself enroute to ChaserCon early on February 8, 2019 - Driving this time as it was mid-way and a perfect stop (in Wichita, Kansas) between Florida and California (my final destination).

THE NAB SHOW 2019 (LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER)

The NAB Show is a very large film and video convention that took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 6 to 11 in 2019. This is a very large collaboration of media and film production with just about everything related to such. There are hands-on demos and training as well as an extensive display of equipment and software ranging from lightning and sound to pro-sumer video and high end film production. The convention takes up all three buildings of the convention center space. I attended the event mainly on April 9 and 10th. The picture above shows the view of the south convention hall down the main "midway".

One of the hands-on full studio displays at the NAB show on April 10. The really awesome thing was that most of these displays are hands-on, with collaboration and the ability to "try out" products.

Setup showing a studio setup with a green screen and live actress, with the composited video (green background replaced with a rendered graphic) in the screen to the upper left.
Many lightning and camera setups like this were on display by many vendors, allowing guests to try out such items.
Large sound / video editing console on display.
It was a pleasure to run into storm chaser Jeff Piotrowski at the Baron Weather Worx booth at the convention.
